We’re delighted to announce the newest member of our preserved bus fleet: FD52 GGV, a distinctive DAF SB200 Wright Commander with an intriguing history!
Originally entering service with Arriva Fox County as part of the ‘Quicksilver Shuttle’ fleet for Leicester Park & Ride in January 2003, FD52 GGV has seen extensive service across the Midlands. It proudly wore ‘Chase Linx’ branding in Cannock, served in Leicester, Derby, Telford, and Tamworth, and eventually became part of the Chaserider fleet operated by D&G Bus until its retirement in April 2021.
Uniquely preserved in authentic Midland Fox livery—a tribute to a much-loved local operator from the 1980s and ’90s—this vehicle adds vibrant character and nostalgic charm to our collection. The restoration work, which included a full chassis rebuild, panel replacements, and seating refurbishment, ensures FD52 GGV is not only historically fascinating but also mechanically pristine.
FD52 GGV is now ready to participate in heritage events, rallies, and special services, celebrating our rich local transport heritage.
Stay tuned for more updates, event appearances, and details on how you can experience this fantastic vehicle first-hand!
